Each school will hold their 2014 Annual School Report to the Public at the following:

High School will be on September 25 at 5:00

in the High School Cafeteria.

 

Middle School will be on October 14 at 5:30

in the MS Professional Development Room.

 

Primary & Intermediate Schools will be on October 14

at 5:30 in the Primary Cafeteria.

Dear Home School Parents and Students:

The Prairie Grove School District welcomes any home school students who would like to participate in one or more school classes or activities.  The legislature passed a law, ACA 6-15-509, that allows home school students to participate in interscholastic activities including athletic teams, fine arts programs and special interest clubs or groups.  In Prairie Grove, we are also going to open this up to students who would like to enroll in one or more academic classes that may be difficult to offer at home as long as numbers allow.

Included in this letter is the school district policy that has been adopted in accordance with the law and a list of courses and extracurricular activities.   There is also a Letter of Intent to participate in an extracurricular activity.  If you have one or more students who will be in grades 7 through 12 next year that want to participate, please fill out this form and return it to Prairie Grove High School, Prairie Grove Middle School or to the administrative offices for the district.  

We will have an informational meeting on Monday, May 12 at 5:30 pm in the high school library for anyone who has an interest and would like a chance to come and ask questions.  If you are unable to make this meeting or would like to get the information a little sooner, please feel free to call me at the number listed above.

 

This first year we are struggling and in some cases not meeting all the deadlines listed in our policy.  So, bear with us as we try to make these opportunities available to those who wish to participate.  We truly want to partner with parents to provide the opportunities you would like for your students.

Prairie Grove School District

School District Balances:

The Prairie Grove School District announces that the Annual Report to the Public will be Monday, October 15, 2012 at 5:00 PM in the Professional Development Room.  The Public is invited to attend.  The regularly scheduled school board meeting will be held at 6:00 PM in the Board Room.

 

LICENSED EMPLOYEE CHECKLIST

 

Immediately after you are hired by the Board of Education you will need to stop by the Superintendent’s Office and complete the following paper work. Not complying with the Arkansas School Law required paper work could result in your contract/paycheck being withheld.

 

1. ARKANSAS TEACHER CERTIFICATE: copy of your valid teaching certificate. A contract cannot be issued without a current teaching certificate. A background check is required for certification and employment.

 

2. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT: An official transcript showing the degrees earned and the official seal of the college or university on it.

 

3. SOCIAL SECURITY CARD: We must have a copy of your social security card for you to receive your first paycheck. It is essential that your name always be on record exactly as it appears on your card. The name on your social security card is the name you will be contracted and paid under.

 

4. CURRENT DRIVER’S LICENSE: We must have a copy for employment eligibility verification.

 

5. LETTER OF RELEASE: A letter from the school district that you were employed at last year releasing you from any and all other teaching contracts. If you were under contract to a school district in Arkansas last year, we need a letter even though you may not have signed a contract for the current year.

  

6. BIRTH CERTIFICATE: If you are not already a member of Arkansas Teacher Retirement, we must have a legible copy of your birth certificate that will be mailed to teacher retirement (a hospital record will not be accepted).

The Prairie Grove School District operates and maintains a web site for the purpose of informing the citizens of the district about its activities.
